The other standout quality about Stephanie was her honesty, we must have looked for almost 6-7 months and we were difficult as a couple as both me and my wife wanted different things in a neighborhood; so we always looked for someone who would provide a different perspective and we totally found that in her. There were times when we loved some houses and would want to put an offer asap but she would point out the pitfalls and steer us away from putting one. There were also instances where she would not know a few things mentioned in the inspection report, in those cases she was upfront about not knowing but she has an array of contacts with contractors and would immediately get a couple of different contractors to know more about those things Before we made an offer. After our offer got accepted, before moving into the house, we had to do a bunch of work to make the house move-in ready, she made that whole process so easy for us by helping us interview various contractors, she even picked the paint for us and gave tips on how to select the furniture as well. She did not really need to do this but it just goes to show her commitment to her clients. All these things were very reassuring for us and greatly appreciated. We not only found a great house in the end but also a friend for life! I highly recommend Stephanie!
Stephanie was wonderful to work with and was so patient and helpful throughout the long and sometimes frustrating process of purchasing our first home. Finding the right property was not easy for us as my husband and I were extremely specific with what we wanted and needed and the real estate market in the Palo Alto and Menlo Park area is tough. We visited many places and did a lot of research before we finally found the perfect home. Stephanie always had a pleasant, personable, and calm demeanor, and her communication and responsiveness were terrific (she was always available to help). She was with us and assisted us the entire step of the way, from the initial search through closing. We are so grateful that we got to know her and for all of her help!
Stephanie was amazing! We had relocated to the East Coast and she helped immensely in recommending and managing several updates to the sale property in preparation for listing. I think we took every recommendation she had (e.g. paint this, replace that, do staging, misc repairs) and are glad we did! Her prep, planning, and professional marketing resulted in an amazing offer that we accepted the first day the townhouse was on the market for ~$130k Over asking! Our place is off Willow Road adjacent to the Willows, and she was super knowledgeable about the neighborhood and the target audience. My ex-husband and I hired Sotheby's and Stephanie von Thaden to prep and sell our Atherton residence. She was very thorough and had good resources for this. She worked with me to coordinate an extensive amount of work. It was not just staging, but painting inside and out, changing some fixtures, landscaping, inspections, and repairs. There were several items that were on my list for quite some time while living there and (especially due to the pandemic) were difficult to get repaired. I had momentarily given up but she had the momentum and the resources to get it all done. With all of this and the staging, the house was beautiful and had offers right away! We were quite happy with the sale and closed!
